Course Description: Basic Medical Aesthetics Training Course for Botox and Fillers

This is a comprehensive 8-hour Botox and filler class that provides participants with training for both BOTOX® and injectable dermal fillers. Better U Medical Aesthetics Training is proud to also provide participants with California BRN CE credits when they complete the training course and is fully reimbursable in most hospitals in California through educational credits. This course provides didactic training during the morning and hands-on training during the afternoon session, allowing participants to begin performing BOTOX® and Dermal Filler procedures immediately. All products, supplies, and Botox/Fillers training models are provided at no additional cost to the participants. Our intensive, one-day Botox course for nurses teaches you everything you need to know to perform these treatments on patients. The Aesthetic products discussed and used in the didactic/hands-on sessions of the Dermal Filler Training include Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Radiesse, and Belotero. Participants in the Botox and filler certification classes will receive course manuals, sample consent, and treatment forms and a Certificate of Training upon completion of the course.

OBJECTIVES (Behavioral Terminology): At the end of 8 hours of didactic and hands-on training, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the history, safety, mechanism of action, and preparation of BOTOX/Xeomin
  • Describe the cosmetic indications and contraindications of BOTOX®/Xeomin
  • Demonstrate knowledge of facial anatomy and physiology as it applies to facial aesthetics
  • Discuss the categories and types of dermal filler products
  • Describe techniques for dermal filler injections to correct nasolabial folds, melomental folds and wrinkles, and lip augmentation
  • Discuss the client selection process for the BOTOX®/Xeomin and Dermal Filler procedures
  • Address the growing US market for aesthetic procedures, in particular BOTOX/Xeomin and Dermal Fillers, and how you may capitalize on this demand and start providing treatment to your own clients
  • Demonstrate proficiency in conducting an aesthetic patient consultation
  • Practice proper injection techniques in the use of BOTOX®/XeomIn and Dermal Fillers

Course Description: Advanced Medical Aesthetics Training Course for Botox and Fillers

Added at the request of many of our students, the Advanced BOTOX® and Dermal Filler training is for medical professionals (RNs, NPs, PAs, MDs)who want to expand their knowledge and use of BOTOX® and dermal fillers even further. A comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy as well as practical experience with BOTOX® and dermal fillers are necessary to effectively incorporate these new procedures into your practice. Our licensed instructors have years of experience with these procedures and have mastered the technique and knowledge required to perform them. This course will give you the confidence and refined skills needed to provide the optimal experience for your patients. If you are looking to increase the revenue and scope of your current practice, our advanced Botox and dermal filler training class is for you!

The following prerequisites must be met prior to enrollment in our Advanced Botox and Dermal Filler training:

  • Completion of Basic BOTOX and filler certification classes (Any Training Facility).
  • Proficiency performing procedures covered in the basic course.

Aesthetic Botox Training

The aesthetic botox training products that are used in the hands-on session of our Advanced BOTOX® and Dermal Filler training include: BOTOX® and Xeominfor neurotoxins; Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Voluma, Radiesse and Belotero for dermal fillers.

Program Objectives

At the end of 8 hours of didactic and hands-on training, the participants will be able to:

  • Review facial anatomy and understand vectors of pull in facial anatomy
  • Review BOTOX® reconstitution
  • To understand the following techniques and treatments utilizing BOTOX®: perioral rhytides (lipstick lines, sunbeam or smokers wrinkles), injections around and under the eyes, melomental folds, relaxation of the upper lip and chin, axillary hyperhidrosis, neck rejuvenation, nose augmentation
  • Review types and uses of dermal fillers
  • To understand the following techniques and treatment utilizing dermal fillers: perioral rhytides, treatment around the eyes, cheek volume restoration, metatarsal fat pad injection, neck rejuvenation, nose augmentation, volume restoration cheek hollows) and the treatment of scars
  • To understand the different fillers on the market including longer lasting fillers, nonbiodegradable fillers and body area fillers
  • To understand various techniques for facial anesthesia.

TITLE: Basic Training for Lasers and their Applications in Medical Aesthetics

OBJECTIVES (Behavioral Terminology): At the end of 8 hours of didactic and hands-on training, participants will be able to:

1. Provide basic assessment and treatment skills for popular Medical spa procedures such as Laser Skin Revitalization and Tattoo/Hair Removal

2. Document all nursing care, photos, pre and post instructions for all medical aesthetic laser and energy based procedures.

3. Demonstrate proficiency with the use of laser and energy based equipment used in medical aesthetics

4. Gain a full understanding of the various laser options, consultation with patient, and evaluate patient needs while setting patient expectations.

  • Learn the various types of light based energy technologies presently available (i.e. Traditional Lasers, Intense Pulse Light (IPL), Radio Frequency (RF), Cryolipolysis, and Micro-Focused Ultrasound (MFUS).
  • Understand and determine which types of light energy treatments will create desired results for patients in a safe and efficacious manner utilizing the various laser energy platforms.
  • Review the most common conditions that can be treated with light energies, protocols for the various platforms, treatment pearls, and safe administration of the procedures.
  • Understand the various non-ablative and ablative FDA cleared indications as well as off-label protocols and uses for a variety of skin disorders or enhancement (i.e. acne, scar revision, rosacea, vaginal rejuvenation).

2. Receive a practical understanding in Physics and Safety Guidelines for Lasers and Light Energy Devices.

Receive easy to understand laser safety guidelines, sample laser policies, and other necessary information to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local ordinances. Receive relevant information relating to the hazards associated with lasers and an understanding on how to avoid them.

3. Lasers & Light Based Energy Devices:

  • Gain proficiency in understanding the various delivery mechanisms associated with laser treatments through “hands-on” training sessions.
  • Learn all the protocols to safely and efficaciously perform; Photofacial, Venous Treatments (legs and facial area), Laser Hair Reduction (all platforms), Skin Tightening (face and décolleté), Body Contouring, Cellulite Reduction, Tattoo Removal, and other ablative and non-ablative techniques.

4. Understand how to receive results for your patients through titration of energies, choosing the right technologies, endpoints to treatment as well as pre and post treatment recommendations.

5. Learn and understand the newer technologies relating to multi-platform devices combining IPL, Combination Lasers, and stand-alone and integrate RF and ablative solutions.

Physics for various light-based energy devices including Lasers (all wavelengths), IPL (intense pulse light), Micro-focused Ultrasound, Infrared (IR), Radio Frequency (RF) and other types of lasers. Review the requirements for lasers from an administrative standpoint, safety compliance, and creation of policies and procedures to be compliant with federal and state guidelines. Skin Anatomy, Classification of Skin (Fitzpatrick, Lancer Type), Contraindications for treatment, photosensitizing medications, and other patient considerations prior to treatment. Introduction to NonAblative Lasers, FDA Clearances for Photofacial (Vascular and Pigmentation Indications) using IPL and laser technologies (1064nm Yag) including suggested protocols and treatment parameters for various skin types.

Other indications for Photofacial (off-label) treatments for moderate and severe acnes and various dermatological conditions (i.e. rosacea, melasma, port-wine, and cherry angiomas). Understand Laser Hair Reduction and Removal including device selection, different technologies, mechanism of action, body and facial treatment areas, and secondary uses for vein reduction of superficial veins in the lower extremities. Pre-treatment considerations for active hair growth, new technologies (larger spot size, high speed) and other off-label uses for PCOS and other patient indications. Learn all the various protocols for treatment, consultation, frequency of treatments, possible complications or adverse events, and expected results for patients including various Fitzpatrick types and body part areas.

This microdermabrasion and chemical peel training for nurses and doctors is a one-day program designed for the medical aesthetician that wishes to widen the menu of services offered to their clients.
